A quick video

Here's a quick video of the clock in action.  The slot machine effect only happens every 5 minutes.  It is for cathode poisoning prevention.

Its working!

The nixie clock is working and looks awesome! Here are a few night shots. The two vacuum tubes on top are fully functional.

Wrapping it up

Made lots of progress on the nixie clock project. I got the choke mounted, 2 boards glued down, and the wires shoved inside so that the case would close. Its coming together.

Switches and buttons

Got the switches on the back panel installed and wired up. Next I'll mount the choke and move the wires around. I sure hope I can fit everything back inside this box.

RGB LEDs!

Lots of progress on the nixie clock project. I fixed all of the wiring errors. I added a heatsink to the 7805 regulator. I added RGB LEDs to the nixie sockets and did some troubleshooting.
Its looking awesome.
Almost done. Just have to add buttons to adjust the time and then stuff it in its box.

Fixed some wiring mistakes

I found the wiring errors. One "output enable " pin was not grounded, and I wired the last 4 pins of the four driver chips backwards. Easy mistake, because I was looking at the top view of the chip in the data sheet, but when I wired it I was wiring it on the bottom side.
Just have to correct 8 more wires, then I think it will display the digits correctly.

2 nixies working

Getting pretty close to finishing the nixie clock project. I got the nixies all wired up. The current draw looks good. Still have to find that little problem with the two right nixies, but that's probably just one wire that needs to be fixed. I still want to wire up some LEDs behind the nixie tubes. So then a few more wires, and then try to shove all these wires inside that box
